Reds coming to Stockland Park |

| Come and meet the QR Queensland Reds and watch them train at Stockland Park on Saturday 20th December 2008.The Reds have been taking some of their training sessions away from Ballymore so the fans can come out and see them.There will be activities for the kids as well as a bbq and autograph session. Training will run from 8.30am to 10am with activities with some of the players running from 9.30am. There will be an assigned time for autographs after all the activities have finished.Bring the whole family down to Stockland Park to meet your QR Queensland Reds including Stingrays Players; Morgan Turinui and Daniel Braid. |

Mountain Creek wins 2008 Ballymore Cup
Mountain Creek State High from the Sunshine Coast are the 2008 Ballymore Cup champions.
Mountain Creek defeated Rockhampton Grammar School 11-0 to claim the title for the first time, and the second year in a row for their region after Sunshine Coast Grammar took the Division One title in 2007.

Grand Finals
Grand Finals of the Cadet Group Australia SCJRU competition were held at Sockland Park on the 30th of August. The day some some fantastic rugby played, and was a great finale to an outstanding season. Finals were held for the Under 13, Under 14, Under 14 (12 a side) and Under 15's. The day also saw the Semi Finals of the Under 16/17 competiton. Congratulations to all the teams that participated on the day, and a big thank-you to all the coaches, managers, administrators, parents and supporters.

Grand Final Time
Last weekend the Semi-Finals were held at Sunshine Coast Grammar School. The day saw many hotly contested battles, and all teams are to be congratulated on their performances. The winning teams progress on to the Grand Finals, to be held this Saturday (30th Aug) at Stockland Park from 8.30am

Champions Breakfast
The annual Champions Breakfast was recently held at the Big Pineapple, celebrating the outstanding acheivements of the 2008 Junior Stinrays at the State Championships. A big thank you to all the players, coaches, managers, parents and sponsors for being a part of this special occasion.

U17 Stingrays - WINNERS of the QR state championships 2008
Over the weekend the Sunshine Coast Stingrays U17 team won the Shield Final at the QR (Junior Rugby) State Champs by defeating Cairns at Ballymore. The squad has been training together since early this year had an unbeaten run through to the final where they went on to win 17-7.

DOUG’S “ BLOG “ – SEPTEMBER. As our 2008 season draws to a close I would like to thank all those people who have made it such a success. All players, coaches, managers, support staff and spectators have been wonderful in promoting and developing our game here on the Sunshine Coast and indeed throughout SE Queensland. A special mention must go to Steve Dowsett ( Competition Manager ) Russell Sinclair ( Junior Stingrays State manager ) ,Noel Stockall and Ian Brown ( Referees coordinators ) as well as Darryn Hoare ( Admin. Officer ) for all their hard work this season – mostly behind the scenes.
